Review Policy

Thank you for considering me as a reviewer — I always appreciate the opportunity to review books and I enjoy reading books from most genres, including:

  • Crime/mystery/thriller fiction
  • Literary fiction
  • Women’s fiction/chick lit (no erotica, please and thank you)
  • Horror fiction
  • Dystopian fiction

Please note that at the moment, I am only accepting review requests from publishers.

I do prefer standalone novels; however, you’ll be able to gather that I do read books as part of a series. I generally prefer to read books in chronological order, so if the novel is part of a series of books, I request that the preceding book/s also be provided so I can catch up on the storyline and get a feel for the characters and key plot points.

I write my reviews honestly and from the heart — my reviews are deep and informative. I try not to divulge spoilers, but sometimes they creep in to the review to support my opinions. If available, I will link to your website and/or social media accounts. I will also be posting my reviews to my Goodreads account.

I have an iPad and I prefer digital copies over physical books. That said, I am happy to accept both hard and paperback copies if no digital copy is available. I am also partial to audio books, depending on the genre of the book.

Generally, my review turnaround time is 2-4 weeks from receipt of the book unless a specific date is requested; however, this can vary. If I expect it to take longer than 4 weeks, I will always let you know.

Beyond reviewing, I would love to host author interviews or competitions with prize giveaways, or be involved in a blog tour.

Thanks for taking the time to read this. If you feel like we’d be a good fit, please contact me via email: hello(at)mycupandchaucer(dot)com. I’m always happy to talk and always open to suggestions.

I look forward to hearing from you!
