Priceline Haul #1 | 40% off skincare

Hello, my name is Tonile and I get excited when Priceline has a 40% off sale. For the uninitiated, at seemingly random times throughout the year, Priceline offers 40% off a certain category (or set of categories) in store and online for two days only. While the makeup 40% off sale days are unambiguously my favourite, the current skincare sale that is running today and tomorrow is a close second.

I take the opportunity to stock up on some of my skincare essentials, while also picking up a new product or two (or sometimes five, let’s be honest) while prices are drastically reduced. I also usually buy some sunscreen, but the product I use was out of stock. Sad face. As such, today was a relatively tame sale trip (I picked up all of the products below for under $35), and I thought I’d quickly run through the items I purchased.

T.N. Dickinson’s Witch Hazel. Witch Hazel is without doubt one of my all-time favourite beauty products. Despite the inexpensive price, it stands up as one of the best toners I’ve ever used, and it helps control my oily skin. I use it morning and night, and while I find it doesn’t do much to reduce the patches of redness around my cheeks, my skin is undoubtedly less prone to breakouts when I make this part of my daily skincare routine.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water. Another skincare staple! This is the only micellar water I’ve ever used and will likely ever use. With skin that is as prone to breakouts as mine is I’ll never use this without also cleansing, but I find that this used in conjunction with a cleanser helps remove makeup residue that sometimes my haphazard cleansing doesn’t quite take off.

Sukin Foaming Facial Cleanser. I made the switch away from a Clinique cleanser early last year when someone recommended this cleanser to me and I love it. In the past, my skin has started to reject cleansers after a continuous period of usage (maybe 4-6 months?) but I’ve been using this for over 12 months and have had zero issues. Tip: if you’re using this regularly, keep an eye out for the larger bottle with the pink ‘save 40%’ strip. This is an offer that pops up from time to time irrespective of whether Priceline is running a 40% skincare sale. It lasts a long time and is very affordable.

Nivea Express Hydration Body Lotion. My skin isn’t super dry, but it’s still nice to keep it moisturised and fresh. I use this on my arms and legs daily and will always pick up an extra bottle when it’s on sale.

Garnier Moisture Matte Moisturiser. This is a moisturiser I’ve never tried before, and the reviews I’ve read are quite mixed. People seem to either love it or hate it, and those who hate it say that it made their skin break out more than usual, so I’ll be on the lookout for any blemishes while I trial it. I’ve enjoyed Garnier moisturisers in the past, so I’ll see how this goes. Moisturisers for my face are always so tricky!

St Ives Blackhead Clearing Green Tea Scrub. My Sukin scrub has almost run out, and while I’ve been happy with it so far I like to take advantage of the 40% off to try something new (this is how I found the Sukin scrub in the first place). I used this in the shower tonight after the gym and I was surprised at how soft my skin felt and how my regular post-gum shower redness was reduced. It suggests that people use it 3-4 times per week for best results, so I’ll give it another go over the weekend.

Did you pick anything up from the Priceline skincare sale? Can you recommend any decent budget-friendly moisturisers for oily, red, acne-prone skin? Leave a comment and let me know.
